Languages Canada welcomes new Manager, International Promotion and Marketing

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Carolyn Bercu to the Languages Canada team as Manager, International Promotion and Marketing. In this role, Carolyn will be responsible for the planning and execution of marketing and international promotion activities such as trade missions, familiarization tours, and participation in international recruitment and promotional events. 

Carolyn comes to Languages Canada with 20 years of experience in international education, both private and public sector, as well as previous experience with Immigration Canada and the Immigration Refugee Board Canada.


Carolyn’s entrance into the language industry was with the University of Toronto’s English Language program from 1998 to 2004.  From there, she switched gears and went on to become a managing partner of ISX Tours, which provides tourism and travel opportunities for international students in Canada. 

Most recently, Carolyn headed the University Pathway program for the International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC). After building up the program in Toronto for five years, she moved to ILAC’s Vancouver location to grow the program there as the Director of Pathway Programs. She was instrumental in negotiating articulation agreements with the language programs in more than 40 public universities and colleges across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Alberta, Ontario and B.C. 


Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Carolyn has spent much of her career in Latin America and Brazil, supporting agents with their efforts to recruit students to Canada. Carolyn is excited join the Languages Canada team to help promote the high quality of language education in Canada and the diversity of programs available to students from around the globe.
