Outbound Trade Mission to France

February, 2025

Join us in France next February to meet with top European education agents

IN COLLABORATION WITH

Canadian Association of Public Schools - International (CAPS-I) members are invited to participate in Languages Canada's upcoming outbound trade mission to France, February 16-19, 2025, which will bring together a group of French and a handful of Belgian education agents in a beautiful location on the outskirts of Paris, with the support of the Trade Commissioner Service and the Embassy of Canada in Paris.

According to CAPS-I's presentation at ICEF Niagara Falls 2024, France ranked among the top 20 source countries for long term enrolments in Canadian public schools for the 2022-2023 school year, with an impressive hike in numbers compared to previous years. The country ranked 8th for short term enrolments (students in Canada for four months or less), sending a record number of students compared to the past four years. It's worth noting that French nationals may be eligible to travel to Canada with an eTA instead of a TRV for programs of 6 months or less.

France is an important source market for students interested in attending high school programs in Canada for several reasons:

  1. Educational Quality and Reputation
Canadian high schools are renowned for their high-quality education, strong emphasis on bilingualism (English and French), and innovative teaching methods. These attributes attract French students and their families who seek a comprehensive and robust educational experience.

  2. Bilingual Environment
Canada’s bilingual environment, particularly in provinces like Quebec, provides an excellent opportunity for French students to improve their English skills while still being able to communicate in their native language. This dual-language proficiency is a significant advantage for future academic and professional opportunities.
  3. Cultural and Historical Ties
The historical and cultural ties between France and Canada make Canada a familiar and appealing destination for French students. The shared cultural heritage and language foster a sense of belonging and ease the transition for students.
  4. Safe and Welcoming Environment
Canada is known for its safety, diversity, and welcoming attitude towards international students. These factors provide reassurance to French parents about their children's well-being and overall experience abroad.
  5. Pathways to Higher Education
High school programs in Canada often serve as a pathway to Canadian universities and colleges, which are highly regarded globally. Completing high school in Canada can give French students a competitive edge in university admissions.
