Inbound Trade Mission with Thai and Vietnamese Education Agencies

Join us in Montréal, next December, to build valuable relationships with key partners from Southeast Asia

IN COLLABORATION WITH

Languages Canada's next inbound trade mission will host 20 Thai and Vietnamese education agents in beautiful Montréal, Québec, December 1 through 4, 2024.

As Tourisme Montréal puts it, Montréal is ‘’a striking union of European charm and North American attitude, [the city] seduces visitors with a harmonious pairing of the historic and the new, from exquisite architecture to fine dining’’.

This is the perfect setting for members to show Thai and Vietnamese agents that their students are more than welcome in Canada. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to strengthen long-standing partnerships, create new and rewarding relationships, and ensure agents feel motivated to keep Canada top of mind.

Why Thailand and Vietnam?

According to BONARD’s presentation at the LC 2024 Conference in Vancouver, Thailand and Vietnam rank among the top 20 source countries for ESL worldwide. In 2022, Canada welcomed 5% of Thailand’s 300,000 student weeks and 29% of Vietnam's 80,000 student weeks

Preliminary findings from Languages Canada’s 2023 annual survey show that Vietnam now ranks as the 10th and Thailand as the 17th top markets for LC members in terms of student weeks. Both countries made the top 15 priority markets for members’ marketing activities, according to the survey.

Meanwhile, data from IRCC reveals that 2,139 Thai students and 8,367 Vietnamese students applied for study permits in 2023.

It's worth noting that Thai nationals may be eligible to travel to Canada with an eTA instead of a TRV for programs of 6 months or less. Vietnamese nationals, however, must apply for a TRV or study permit.
