One of Seneca’s signature centres of excellence is its English Language Institute (ELI), which has been helping international students improve their English for over 20 years. With an enrolment of 500 students each semester, the ELI prepares students for their Seneca programs, for their professional goals or for their personal plans. The intensive ELI program has 8 levels of English, each offering 175 hours over 7 weeks. Students in the upper levels study English and post-secondary subjects at the same time. In addition, the ELI offers a TESL teacher training program and customized group programs. An ELI student is a Seneca College student, benefitting from an ultra-modern learning environment, the latest technology including a world famous digital language lab, numerous facilities that include libraries, restaurants, coffee shops, ice skating rink, health centre, gym, and outstanding student services that include airport pickup, housing and activity coordinators and advisors. ELI students can live in an on-campus residence, with a host family or in apartments.
